Work Days

“Haymakers”

It’s the grass cutting and raking, weed clearance and seed harvesting season and lots of help is needed with a variety of tasks.  10am – 1pm.   Come and join us!  Meet at Chelvey Rise, Nailsea, BS48 2PF (near the Old Farmhouse pub).

All members and non-members are welcome.

Equipment is provided so just bring protective gloves, wear sturdy shoes and clothes appropriate for the weather.  However, if you do have a rake you can bring, that would help as our tool supply is limited! Early birds can meet the group at 10am in Chelvey Rise (near the Old Farmhouse Pub) BS48 2PF for tool collection and directions to the work area. Later arrivals can locate FoTP members by looking out for the blue high-vis vests or ringing our contact mobile.  The more volunteers we have, the more we can achieve!

The safety of our volunteers and users of the park is taken very seriously when undertaking work on the park. The following risk assessments have been undertaken:-

Pruning – coppicing – cutting – brashing

Strimming – brush cutting – leaf blowing

Litter Picking

Refreshments and a mid-morning break will take place at 11.30 (ish) at a location to be decided on the day.  We look forward to seeing you there.

Not sure about the location of the park or the compartments within it? Details can be found on our Location Page or contact Pat Gilbert on 01275 851800 (landline) in advance or 07879 607492 (mobile) on the day.

Dates for your diary:  Next Workdays – 21 Nov (Tuesday); 3 Dec (Sunday)
